Kalaeokaunaʻoa, also known as Kahuku Point, is the northernmost point of Oʻahu and is significant both culturally and ecologically. Join North Shore Community Land Trust for our community workdays to mālama this special place on the second Saturday of each month. Meet us on the Kahuku-side, eastern corner of the Turtle Bay Resort parking lot, near the former Paradise Helicopters helipad by 9 a.m. A guide will lead volunteers on a coastal hike of about one mile to Kalaeokaunaʻoa (~20 minutes).

Restoration activities include invasive species removal, native out-planting, and other dune restoration activities for a variety of ages and skill levels.

RSVPs are required in advance.

Please remember to bring:

  • A reusable water bottle with a minimum of 2 liters of water
  • Your own gloves and weeding tools if you prefer (we will also provide clean gloves and tools)
  • Reef-safe sun protection
  • Comfortable walking shoes

We hope you will join us for this opportunity to mālama (care for) this special place!
