How It All Began
VolunteerAlly was a concept developed by Nancy Wo and her daughter Ally Wo to address a critically important and specific need in the volunteer community. As a beginner volunteer, Nancy found trying to find a volunteer opportunity to be a frustrating and somewhat daunting process. Finding the different nonprofits, the contact person, their contact information and then actually communicating with the organization in a timely manner was difficult. Understandably, the nonprofits were short on manpower and had overwhelming schedules to meet with their never-ending demands as well.
Watching her mother's exasperation with the process, Ally suggested they come up with a solution and together they came up with VolunteerAlly. Nancy came up with the pun name; Ally is extremely embarrassed!
Today VolunteerAlly provides a new methodology for directly connecting volunteers, non-profits, and affiliate organizations. Our goal is to form a lasting relationship between volunteers and organizations, and to encourage volunteers to make volunteerism a part of their everyday lifestyle while providing an engaging experience.
