Volunteers Needed

About Us

Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing young people for the future by teaching essential financial literacy skills. Our program connects schools with volunteers from various professional backgrounds who are passionate about educating students on topics such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness. These are crucial life skills that empower students to make informed decisions, both now and in their future careers.

WHY VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are critical to the success of our programs and JA volunteers have the opportunity to impact a large number of students in a short span of time. As a volunteer, you will inspire and prepare young people for their futures and help youth avoid the financial pitfalls so many adults currently face. By being a JA volunteer and sharing your personal and professional experiences and skills with students from your community, you help them make the connection between what they are learning in school and what they will need to succeed in work and life.

WHERE

Volunteer in-person or virtually, in a school classroom in your community across Oahu

High School Programs: 5-12 sessions, 45minutes each

MATERIALS

JA provides you with turnkey materials necessary to teach your class, including a comprehensive volunteer lesson plan guide, engaging activity materials, and fun posters. JA will train you on how to use the materials provided to you, and will connect you to a teacher in your area who has requested JA programs.

You and the teacher are then provided the flexibility to determine your visitation schedule. The teacher will remain in the classroom to support you throughout the sessions. You will also have a JA contact who can answer any questions you have, and provide any assistance you may need.

Together we can inspire and prepare more young people throughout Hawaii to succeed!
