The Hawaiʻi Houseless Outreach and Medical Education (H.O.M.E.) Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to quality health care for Hawai‘i’s houseless population - while also educating the next generation of physicians about the challenges and needs of this underserved community. We operate free medical clinics six days a week—including at our new brick-and-mortar clinic in Iwilei, as well as mobile clinics in Waikīkī (St. Augustine’s Church), Waiʻanae (Paiʻolu Kaiaulu Shelter), and Thomas Square. We also provide specialty care through weekly psychiatry clinics and monthly clinics in Ophthalmology, Women’s Health, and Dermatology—with Neurology services launching soon.
Through H.O.M.E., we provide comprehensive, compassionate, and entirely free healthcare—addressing both acute and chronic conditions, while also creating meaningful learning opportunities for JABSOM students. Our clinics are staffed by medical and pre-medical students, under the guidance of dedicated volunteer physicians. In addition, we run a mentoring program for houseless teens, organize outings and wellness activities, and host special events for keiki throughout the year, such as Halloween carnivals, Christmas parties, and school supply drives.
