Diamond Head Theatre

Volunteers are the life blood of community theatre and here at Diamond Head Theatre, we have numerous opportunities for volunteers who are interested in giving of their time and talents to help make the magic of live theatre come to life! Established in 1915, Diamond Head Theatre is the Broadway of the Pacific, producing the best live community theatre entertainment in Hawai'i and advancing the theatre arts through education.

It takes an army of volunteers to stage each production so whether you're interested in taking up a hammer to help build sets, donning a needle and thread to construct the multitude of costumes that you see on stage, or lending just a few hours every other month to usher a show, there's a place for you at Diamond Head Theatre. We have an ongoing need for volunteers in the following areas:

• Scene Shop - Set construction and painting; previous experience is great, but we can use all levels of skills (between the hours of M-F, 9am-4pm)
• Costume Shop - sewing skills (by machine or by hand) are always needed, volunteers can take projects home to work on or work in the Costume Shop between the hours of M-F, 9a,-4pm
• Dressers - assist performers with costume changes during performances, no experience necessary, we will train you! 
• Stage Crew - moves set pieces and props during a performance under the direction of the Stage Manager, no experience necessary, we will train you!
• Spotlight Operators - run the spotlight during a performance under the direction of the Stage Manager and Lighting Designer, previous experience is helpful but not required
• Ushers - show patrons to their seats, pass out playbills, verify tickets, or man the ADA lift before a performance under the direction of the House Manager. No experience necessary, we will train you!
• Concession Stand - sell snacks and beverages during intermission and before each performance; will require obtaining a liquor commission card, no experience necessary, we will train you!
